Salinity and Water Quality measurements

Water Quality kit

  Water Quality measurements
A water quality and salinity measurement programme will be carried out for two main purposes:
  • To provide data for the natural sea defences along the coast (mangrove management),
  • To provide data for calibrating the hydraulic model, with respect to the interaction of sea water and fresh water from the rivers.

For this purpose a Water Sampling and Field Analysis set will be acquired. The set consists of a Multimeter to measure pH, mV, EC, salinity, temperature and dissolved oxygen.

The Mangrove Management Team will carry out field measurements based on a detailed Field Data Form that was prepared by this Team. Some of the parameters that will be measured include salinity, temperature and pH, inventory of mangrove species and status.
More information will be presented on the Site of the Mangrove Training Team.
Download Data Collection Sheet of Mangrove Management Team.

The Bathymetric Survey Team will carry out measurements for calibrating the hydraulic model, to account for the interaction of sea water and fresh water from the rivers.
