Hypack Manual

HYPACK® MAX Survey program is
a powerful hydrographical software package which is used throughout the world
for survey design, data collection, graphical editing, plotting, volume
computations, surface modelling and contouring. It processes raw data files from
of the echo sounder and transforms these into files that can be plotted. In
HYPACK the files can be edited, corrected for the tide, the heave, pitch and
roll of the survey vessel and erroneous values can be filtered out, so that a
reliable set of data remains. The package contains state of the art design
programs which permits the user to quickly layout survey lines, create plotting
sheets and design cross sectional profiles.
The purpose of this manual is to give a clear overview of the process from the
minute Raw data is extracted from the measuring devices, up to getting output
plots (for example cross sections and depth charts). The Help function in HYPACK
offers you most of the times a clear answer to your question, but a step-by-step
overview is missing. Some knowledge of computer programs is necessary to be able
to understand HYPACK.
The outline of HYPACK will be explained in the manual, to get a clear overview
of the contents and possibilities of the software package. Secondly, a plan of
approach is given step-by-step to get a good result in a clear way.
