The project
supervision will be the responsibility of Sea and Rivers Defence Division (SRDD)
of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, which has a direct
responsibility to the Sea Defence
Board (SBD). The Steering Committee for the project will be the Sea Defence
Board which co-ordinates the activities with the ICZM Committee established
under the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA). This ICZM Committee will finally give account to The
Government of Guyana, Ministry of Finance and to the European Commission.
The Consultant is responsible for carrying out the programme of works for the project. The
main role of the Consultant in the Training Programme is co-ordinating and
facilitating the Trainee Teams. Furthermore, a number of data collection and
processing tasks will be carried out, including training-on-the-job of the
members of the trainee teams.
The organisation scheme and staff playing leading roles in the capacity building
activities (see Training Programme and
Technical Activities: Surveys, Modelling and GIS) under the
present project are presented below.
